Book art education is at a turning point. The future of our field will be shaped by the ideas we share, the skills we pass on, and the relationships we build together. Now is the time to gather, collaborate, and imagine what comes next.
On Saturday, June 13, 2026, CBAA: the Association for Book Art Education will connect communities across the country through regional Pivot(al) hubs hosted by book arts centers, universities, libraries, and studios. We invite you to join us by hosting or attending a hub in your community.
Pivot(al) is a national day of conversation, creativity, and connection designed to strengthen the future of book arts education. Together, participants will:
- Explore innovative teaching approaches and classroom resources
- Build new partnerships and strengthen local and national networks
- Engage in conversations around equity, access, sustainability, and advocacy
- Celebrate the creativity, resilience, and generosity that define our field
The national program will include:
- Opening remarks from the CBAA President
- A keynote address by IBé Crawley
- Artist demonstrations and process videos
- Artist book readings shared by members across the country
CBAA will provide hosts with a playbook and video catalogue to help shape the day’s programming, while local hosts create the space for conversation and community-building.
