Dear Friend of Book Art,
On June 13, 2026, CBAA: The Association for Book Art Education will hostPivot(al), our annual members meeting. Even as some institutional support for book art education retreats, the field itself is still growing, and Pivot(al) is our answer to that moment. This gathering is designed to meet our membership where they are, making CBAA programming more accessible across regions while affirming that book arts education is strongest when we build it together.
Pivot(al) will unite book artists, printers, librarians, and educators nationwide through a network of regional hubs hosted by book arts centers, schools, libraries, and universities. A pivot is both a turning point and a point of connection—and our field is experiencing both.
The day’s program will include:
Our aims with this gathering are to:
CBAA is a non-profit organization committed to book art education, including both the practice and analysis of the medium. It welcomes as members everyone involved in teaching and all others who have similar goals and interests. In addition to the educational community of teachers and students, our more than 600 members include academic librarians, curators, independent scholars, museum professionals, international private collectors, and practicing artists.
YOU can help support CBAA by becoming a Pivot(al) 2026 Sponsor. As a sponsor, you will provide access to resources such as member support grants, speaker fees, and meeting costs for our diverse community of book artists and thinkers. By supporting book arts educators and enthusiasts from all walks of life, you are in turn supporting the future of book art education.
This is a terrific opportunity for a constructive partnership—a chance to gain high visibility with your networks by supporting the growth and influence of our important professional organization.
We urge you to consider one or several of the options on the enclosed list of sponsorship possibilities. A member of our Development Committee will be contacting you soon to follow up on this letter and discuss your participation, support, and inclusion in the event.
With appreciation and thanks,
Rachel Simmons
