The weather is great this time of year. If you can stay longer, there are many amazing sites nearby. Places of interest in Tucson or very close; this is a very short list.

Tucson Botanical Gardens
Tucson Botanical Gardens is a five-and-a-half-acre collection of sixteen residentially scaled urban gardens in Tucson, Arizona, United States. https://tucsonbotanical.org/

Sabino Canyon
Experience the beauty of one of the most unique Southwestern desert canyons on a Sabino Canyon tram ride. Sabino Canyon is a natural desert oasis located in Tucson's Coronado National Forest and is home to spectacular desert landscapes and abundant wildlife. www.sabinocanyon.com/

Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum
The Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum is a 98-acre zoo, aquarium, botanical garden, natural history museum, publisher, and art gallery founded in 1952. https://www.desertmuseum.org/

Tohono Chul Park

Biosphere 2
Biosphere 2 is an American Earth system science research facility located in Oracle, Arizona. It has been owned by the University of Arizona since 2011. http://biosphere2.org/

Saguaro National Park (U.S. National Park Service)
Its two sections are on either side of the city of Tucson. The park is named for the large saguaro cactus, native to its desert environment. In the western Tucson Mountain District, Signal Hill Trail leads to petroglyphs of the ancient Hohokam people. In the eastern Rincon Mountain District, Cactus Forest Drive is a loop road with striking views of the desert landscape. https://www.nps.gov/sagu/index.htm

San Xavier del Bac Mission
San Xavier del Bac is a historic Spanish Catholic mission located about 10 miles south of downtown Tucson, Arizona, on the Tohono O'odham San Xavier Indian Reservation. www.sanxaviermission.org/

Titan Missile Site is one of only a handful of Cold War missile silos left in the US. Many of the tours are led by some of the ex-military soldiers who lived in the silos 24/7. http://www.titanmissilemuseum.org/

Tumacácori National Historical Park is located in the upper Santa Cruz River Valley in Santa Cruz County, southern Arizona. The park consists of 360 acres in three separate units. https://www.nps.gov/tuma/index.htm

Arcosanti is a projected experimental town with a molten bronze bell casting business in Yavapai County, central Arizona, 70 mi north of Phoenix, at an elevation of 3,732 feet. https://arcosanti.org/

Taliesin West
Taliesin West was architect Frank Lloyd Wright's winter home and school in the desert from 1937 until his death in 1959 at the age of 91. http://franklloydwright.org/taliesin-west/

Bisbee is a city in Cochise County, Arizona, United States, 92 miles (148 km) southeast of Tucson. Bisbee is a city in the Mule Mountains of southeast Arizona. Both the Bisbee Mining & Historical Museum and the Bisbee Restoration Museum chronicle the city’s copper-mining past. The vast Queen Mine offers underground tours. Homes that once belonged to miners run up Tombstone Canyon from Old Bisbee, the historic town center. The grand Muheim Heritage House has 19th-century furniture, plus gardens and mountain views. 

Grand Canyon National Park
Unique combinations of geologic color and erosional forms decorate a canyon that is 277 river miles (446km) long, up to 18 miles (29km) wide, and a mile (1.6km) deep. Grand Canyon overwhelms our senses through its immense size. https://www.nps.gov/grca/index.htm

Sedona is an Arizona desert town near Flagstaff that’s surrounded by red-rock buttes, steep canyon walls and pine forests. It’s noted for its mild climate and vibrant arts community. Uptown Sedona is dense with New Age shops, spas and art galleries. On the town’s outskirts, numerous trailheads access Red Rock State Park, which offers bird-watching, hiking and picnicking spots. In addition to these well-known sights, there is terrific hiking and biking in and around Tucson.
