Brief bio for members directory listing (optional)
Following a long career in scholarly publishing at Macmillan, Scribner, and Routledge, and a second career in academia at UNC Chapel Hill and Duke University, I retired in January 2026 to focus full time on book art and community service related to it. I co-lead Triangle Book Arts in North Carolina and serve on the CBAA Board. In my art, I combine my mixed-media images and poetry in book structures. My art has been shown in several groups exhibits and is in private and institutional collections. I have a B.A. from U. C. Berkeley and an M.A. from Columbia University, both in Comparative Literature.
