The 15th Focus on Book Arts conference offers five full days of workshops that appeal to beginning as well as advanced book artists. Workshops are taught by renowned, professional instructors in the fields of bookbinding, printing, decorative papers, paper making, book art, and more. This year’s event will be held at Western Oregon University in Monmouth, OR.

This year's classes include:
Intensive Marbling on Paper and Fabric; Collage Techniques for Altered Books; Creativity, Collage, and Coptic Stitch; Art Bound-Binding Techniques for Single Sheets; Hanji: Hand and Vat; Drawing & Lettering Sketchbook; Intro to Artist Books; Exploring Embroidery on Paper; Beaded Miniature Books; Water Media Approaches for Book Structures; Coptic Cross Stitch Journal; The Unfolding Box Book; Interlocked–Woven Paper in Book Arts; Funky Foldy: Fun Structures for the Studio or Classroom; Writing in the Blanks; Block Printed Flag Books: A Creative Fusion; Solar Plate Etching and Monotype Workshop; Native Plant Transfer Printmaking; Indigo Dyeing Fabric and Paper; Movable Magic: The Animating Binding; Stick Binding, and more!

You will find detailed workshop information inside the online catalog, as well as information on housing and other conference activities. The conference attracts over 200 book and paper artists from around the world. There are five workshop days, a Trade Show, an Artists’ Fair, a Faculty-Staff Exhibition, and several evening events. FOBA is an excellent opportunity for community, networking, and learning new skills. Workshop registration will open online on March 4, 2024, at 8 AM (PST). Many classes fill to capacity quickly.
