    · Panel Discussions (Saturday, June 3, 12pm–3:00pm EDT/9am–12pm PDT), and
    · Regional Group Break Out Sessions (Saturday, June 3 (3pm–3:45pm EDT/12pm–12:45pm PDT).
    · Committee meetings will be scheduled separately for the week after the symposium, and links will be sent to members during the symposium.

Join the CBAA for our 2023 Virtual Symposium “Lessons from Lockdown, Rethinking Book Art Education,” June 2–3, 2023. We will offer several days of virtual content centered around the reinvention of book art education during lockdown, including a panel discussion, keynote address, regional groups breakout sessions, and CBAA’s Annual Business Meeting.

The 2023 CBAA Virtual Symposium encourages members to share experiences and resources from their online adaptations to book art education over the past few years. The pandemic forced radical rethinking about curriculum, participant engagement and methods of delivery. This led to rapid developments in the way book art is taught, learned, and experienced.

Registration is free for all current CBAA Members, and required for participation. As of 2021, there is a new, low barrier, sliding scale membership fee structure, so if you aren’t a member, consider joining or renewing today! This is a fully virtual event. All participation will be through the Zoom platform. Be sure to register on or before June 2, 2023, to guarantee your spot.

Join us via Zoom for a Keynote Presentation with Jenny Wilkson, Partners in Print (PiP) and Erin Beckloff Letterpress Educator of Art & Design (LEAD), Panel Discussions and CBAA's Annual Business Meeting where CBAA President Sarah Matthews will report on the state of the organization. In addition, you will be invited to join individual CBAA Committee Meetings throughout the week to hear about plans for 2024 and learn how you can get involved. All of these events are free to attend for all Members of the CBAA.

Even though we are not meeting in person, you can get your very own collection of symposium swag sent to you in the mail! Enjoy CBAA merch such as a custom patch, stickers, roll of washi tape, along with other book art goodies. The first 15 people to order will also receive a bonus enamel book art pin, courtesy of Paper Carnival. Symposium swag is $35.00 (shipping included) and can be ordered during the symposium registration process.
